UGADI Subhakaanshalu

To all the non-telugu ppl., that means UGADI greetings., in telugu of course ! I'll share with u some info bout Ugadi now.
UGADI is derived 4m the older name YUGA AADI ., which means begining of a new age. Its believed that Brahma., the god of creation started building the universe on this day.
UGADI is not only the start of the new year, it also welcomes the season of Spring and bids farewel to the cold winters., though it mite not be that apparent.
Like many of the other festivals., houses are cleaned., ppl get up early., bathe n dress up in new clothes ( wish Ugadi came more than once every year) and cook their traditional dishes. One special thing about UGADI would b the 'Ugadi pacchadi' which literally means pickle., but its kind of a strong., really strong tasting herbal mixture kind of thing. Its a mixture of Salt.,Jaggery( the sweet)., Tamarind(tangy).,Tender neem flowers(horribly BITTER!!!) and raw mango(sour). All these signify the different spices of life. Like it or not., life's not all sweet., although we'd all like it that way.
Another important thing that's done today is listening to the Pachangam. Its the calender of the new year and experts read it out and make predictions about rains., crops ., climates etc.
Its believed that what you do today., is gonna affect you the rest of the year and you'll probably be good at it the rest of the year. So ppl try., i mean,. TRY to do good things 2day like study., get ur early.,not spend too much money or try not to fight much., and u know ., all the other nice things. So., all of you do somethin nice 2day., anything !
